Welcome!

My name is Janet Schenk and I share my creative energies between two passions: gardening and photography. I began delving into both areas around the turn of the century when my children began full-time schooling. I am an Advanced Master Gardener and have learned my photography by taking group classes and from one-on-one instruction with several photographers who serve as my mentors in the Metro-Detroit area. In July, 2006, I won Third Place for one of my photographs: one out of over 400 entered in a City of Canton Public Arts Commission photo challenge.

I ‘went digital' late in 2005 just prior to a trip abroad. My photographic areas of interest are primarily nature (including flowers, gardens and butterflies), travel, and military. My wish is that my viewers experience a sense of wonder in nature or fond memories of places already visited or hopes for travel yet to come.
